Kristensen kicked off the Little Norway Festival on May 13 during the Little Norway Festival Pageant by reading a letter from the Norwegian ambassador to the United States Anniken Krutnes explaining the history of Syttende Mai, which celebrates the signing of the Norwegian Constitution.
