Obituary: Mike A. Davis, 70

Mike A. Davis, a resident of Sitka, died December 31, 2022 at Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center. He was 70.

Mike was born January 19, 1952 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Ronald E. Davis and Lillian E. Shotridge. The family moved to Anchorage in 1964, then to Juneau in 1966 where Mike graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1971.

He attended a computer programming school in

Lake Oswego, Oregon.

After graduating he returned to Juneau to work for the State of Alaska. Later he moved to Petersburg, where he

opened his own business, Mike's Auto, a body and fender shop.

About 10 years ago he retired and moved to Sitka where he enjoyed sport fishing and was a member of the Sitka Moose Lodge #1662.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Ronald Eugene Davis and Lillian Esther O'Daniel. He is survived by his daughters Christy (Doug) Flake and Becky Weimer of Juneau, and Stephanie (Rob) Shurtleff of Twin Falls, Idaho; sons Matt Davis of Petersburg and Clint Davis of Juneau; his brother Ron (Kristine) Davis and their daughter Lilly, of Sitka; grandchildren, Kelsie and Brittni Weimer, and Devin and Jesse Flake of Juneau; and great-grandchildren Liam Pope and Silas Martin of Juneau.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held this summer in Sitka.
