Steven John Espeseth, 70, passed away October 22, 2022 of natural causes in Fosston, Minnesota. Steve was born August 4, 1952 in Petersburg, Alaska to Arne and Louise Espeseth. He graduated in 1970 from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. With the money he saved being a commercial fisherman, he went to pilot school in Colorado. The Petersburg School District board voted 4-0 to accept the draft of the FY22 audit during its meeting on Nov. 8 with Board Member Jay Lister excused. The results of this year's municipal election were certified by the Petersburg Borough Assembly at a special meeting last Friday. Three ballots-two of which had been postmarked by election day and received by the borough and one questioned ballot-were counted during the meeting which brought the total number of ballots cast to 1,194.
