The Stedman Elementary foursquare club ended on May 3 with a large tournament, music, and excited spectators. The first-time club met every Tuesday after school to play foursquare and ninesquare since September. Gifts come to the Clausen Museum from any number of places. These baby moccasins were made in 1983 by Tlingit Elder Mary Reyes, who was an avid beader. Mary made moccasins for all the new babies in her family. As a friend of the Berger family, she also made a pair when Gayle Berger’s son Benjamin was born. April 28, 1922 The Totem Pole is now open. Miss Mary Allen and Miss Blanch O’Dell opened “The Totem Pole” ice cream parlor in the Ohmer post office building. The new place is a credit to the town being furnished in the mission style, with old rose hangings, curtains and shades. The service is excellent.
