    The Petersburg City School District receives preliminary grant amounts for state and federal grants early in the school year and then an additional amount in October. PCSD received an additional $237,617 in grant funds this year. The PCSD School Board accepted the grants during its regular meeting Tuesday, Nov. 20. A grant in the amount of $105,193 was given by the No Child Left Behind Act and another $1,575 was received by the Migrant Book grant.     After only 2-1/2 months on the job, Bruce Jones, Petersburg Indian Association Tribal Administrator was fired by a 4-2 vote of the tribal council on Tuesday night. Tom Reinarts wrote in a published letter that Wrangell’s borough government had added 29 employees since its formation.     The Petersburg City Council met Friday to finalize the results of Tuesday’s municipal election. The question to raise the sales tax cap in Petersburg from $1,200 to $1,700, failed by six votes. Petersburg Mayor Al Dwyer and council tallied the votes of three questioned ballots and two absentee ballots that were received through the mail.
